Nepal’s fitness scene has grown fast. There are now Nepali coaches teaching science-based training online, female creators making the gym feel welcoming for women, and athletes winning medals at South Asian and world championships. Here are Nepali fitness influencers and athletes worth following in 2026, grouped by what they are best for.

We chose people who are active and known for useful or inspiring fitness content, based on public profiles and news reports. This is not a paid list, and nobody here paid to be included. Follower numbers change every week, so we have not listed them.

Athletes who made history

These athletes are better known for competition results than for social media, but every Nepali lifter should know their names.

Nanita Maharjan

A bodybuilder from Kirtipur who started training in 2013. At the 8th WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships in Pattaya, Thailand, in December 2016, she won bronze in the athlete physique (165 cm) category, reported as Nepal’s first medal at that event.

Binu Gharti

At the 16th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Thimphu, Bhutan, in July 2026, Binu Gharti won gold in women’s swimwear and silver in model physique.

Nepal’s powerlifting team

Nepal regularly sends lifters to international powerlifting competitions. At the World Powerlifting Championship held in Amravati, India, in December 2020, Nepal won three gold medals and one silver, through Hasan Gurung, Ashish Ale Magar, Shruti Karki and Rajesh Suwal.

How to get the most out of fitness influencers

  • Follow coaches who explain why, not just show workouts. Understanding the reason behind an exercise makes you better at training on your own.
  • Be careful with supplement promotions. Many creators are paid by brands. That is normal, but it means a product post is an advert, not independent advice.
  • Do not compare your day 30 with their year 10. Most of the people above have trained for many years.
  • Beware of “transformation in 30 days” claims, steroid-like results promised to beginners, and anyone selling miracle fat burners.
